FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC REMINDER | VOLUME 15.
FEELING THE LOVE:
We started out 2009 with an extraordinary Open Mic in January. Many familiar faces, many first-timers, and a warm, receptive audience that was obviously there for the music and rewarded the performers with their attention and hearty applause. Our sign-up sheet was once again past full but a simple mention of efficiency brought the remaining performers together as a team and our show ended just a few minutes past closing with a wonderful set by newcomer Stacy Beuler!

I have been using Facebook as a way to remind people about upcoming First Saturdays Open Mics. Their "Event" feature allows me get an idea of who's attending and/or performing. This information allows me to let Bothers K know ahead of time if it's likely we'll go past close and makes it possible for them to be prepared and stay open later if we need. So, if you haven't joined yet, give it a try and then search "first saturdays open mic" and RSVP if you will be making it this month.
THE NEXT FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC:
is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7th, FROM 6-8PM (with SIGN-UP BEGINNING AT 5:30) held, as always, at Evanston's favorite Coffee House, BROTHERS K, located at 500 Main Street, just 1 block from the Metra and El stations.
AND REMEMBER: If you want to be sure to get seats it's good to arrive closer to 5:30 than 6:00pm these days...
