FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC REMINDER | VOLUME 16.
PACKED HOUSE:
We'd been running at maximum capacity for some months now... but February put us into new territory! We had to say no to some latecomers (some, first-timers) because we already had a list that continued on to a second page. Starting in March we're going to switch to a Two Song format. This will hopefully allow for more performers to play, for me to relax a bit more, and for Brothers K to actually close on time for a change.
TALENT:
Looking at the sign up sheet and reflecting on February's performances I'm just blown away at the talent we had present under one roof! I'd like to take a moment to thank Dave N, Rena, Bobbie, Joe, Carla & James, Kristen, Sheldon, Andy, Dave S, Erick, Herbie, John D, and John M for coming back again and again with new songs for the crowd! I'd also like to thank first-timers Steve, for treating us to some great originals, and Lauren, for ending the night with two beautiful songs (one on Banjo!) - I, for one, hope you'll grace our stage again. Lastly, thanks to the gracious audience members who encourage us to bring our best to the microphone each month! See y'all in March!
THE NEXT FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC:
is SATURDAY, MARCH 7th, FROM 6-8PM (with SIGN-UP BEGINNING AT 5:30) held, as always, at Evanston's favorite Coffee House, BROTHERS K, located at 500 Main Street, just 1 block from the Metra and El stations.
AND REMEMBER: If you want to be sure to get seats it's good to arrive closer to 5:30 than 6:00pm these days...
